Birdwatching in the Okavango Panhandle, Botswana, is exceptional, with notable species such as the rare Pel’s Fishing Owl, White-backed Night-Heron, African Skimmer, Black-faced Babbler, Brown Firefinch, and the Western Banded Snake-Eagle. In summer, vibrant Carmine Bee-eaters gather in large flocks to nest along the riverbanks. Visitors may also spot hippos, large crocodiles, and elusive aquatic antelopes like the sitatunga, known for their shy nature and strong swimming ability. The tall riverine forests create a rich habitat for a wide variety of wildlife. 

Sunset Boat Cruise – Okavango River (Mohembo Bridge) 2hrs to 3 hrs- enjoying a relaxing guided sunset cruise on the Okavango River in a 6-seater boat, departing from KPE. Self-catering: please bring your own drinks, water, and snacks. 

Bird Watching by Boat / Bird & Bush Walk Explore a bird-rich area from KPE- 2hr-3hrs. Spot African Jacana, Emerald Cuckoo, African Skimmer, and many more — a true bird lover’s experience. 

Mokoro Poling Experience the heart of the Okavango Delta by gliding through crystal-clear channels in a traditional mokoro (canoe), and scheduled for min of 2 hrs and max of 6 hrs. See birdlife and water lilies up close. Year-round activity 

KPE Village Tour & Game Viewing Discover KPE Village for 60 minutes to explore its indigenous trees, solar-powered projects, Smart Climate Horticulture garden, and Masimo Game -impalas. 

Discover the Eastern Panhandle Scenic boat trip for 3 hours through open waterways, papyrus swamps, floodplains, and riverine forests. Includes a packed lunch. Focus on culture, fishing, birding, history, and wildlife. 

Fishing – Half Day / Full Day Catch-and-release Tiger Fish or experience the Barbel Run. Fuel, guide, and fees included. Tackle rental available. Seasonal: March–December. 

Cultural Village Tour Guided walk for 3 Hrs through a local village showcasing cultural heritage. Learn about the Hambukushu people and their traditions 

San Community Craft Centre – Elephant Dung Paper Tour Visit Kaputura Village for 45 minutes drives and see how the San community makes eco-friendly paper from elephant dung. View unique handmade paper products inspired by conservation. 

Basket Weaving Experience Learn from local experts how to dye palm fronds, create patterns, and weave traditional Okavango baskets, and it’s available in 3 hrs lesson 

Tsodilo Hills 1hr 30 minutes drive, Tsodilo Hills to explore over 4,000 ancient rock paintings across four sacred hills. Includes guide, fees, packed lunch, and transfers. 

Game Drive – Namibia 40 minutes drive- the Morning game drive in Mahangu or explore bird-rich Bwabwata Buffalo Park (spent 6 hrs). Self-drive to the border or transfer available.
